Recriminations/Menacing Napkins

I made a set of ten Recriminations/Menacing Napkins for Hovel, Michael Curran's new project. In the aftermath of Hovel's inaugural event, The Birthday Party, (during which my first set of ten Menacing Napkins were distributed/destroyed/grubbied with cake) artists returned to the space to deposit and install new work for the forthcoming Hovel Exhibition.

Menacing Napkins

I created a set of ten Menacing Napkins (see below) for Birthday Party, the inaugural event of Michael Curran's Hovel project, which took place on Saturday 28th February 2009. Each Menacing Napkin was folded and served to guests/performers with a slice of the three-tiered iced chocolate cake made by Serena Korda. I think most of the napkins headed for a gooey smeared crumpled end. There may be some relics lurking amongst the detritus of the Birthday Party...or perhaps some escaped as impromptu Party Bags for an extra slice/lump of cake to take home...There are more pictures from the evening on my Flickr Site.
